My kids’ quarterly exams finished a couple of weeks back. And I just saw the results the other day. Wow! I’m impressed! I once dreamt that I’d be known to many as an inspiration. I fantasized going to different places, and fancied meeting diverse personalities. I didn’t know how, but I have always been determined. When I started writing back in 2013, I have never thought that a lot of people, especially modern women and super moms, will notice my blogs. I knew that I’ll get support from my friends and family because they always encourage me to do what I’m passionate about. My ultimate goal was to simply share my experiences and my journey. I came to realize that everything is possible with hard work and perseverance when I received my college degree in nursing while doing my best to fulfill my duties as a wife and mother.

Just do what makes you and your loved ones happy, then you are actually living your life to the fullest. Impossible means “I’m possible”.

So, here I am. It’s only been four years, but the amount of joy and the number of souls whose hearts I have touched have multiplied tremendously. I’m truly grateful for every single one of you that made me a better person, and I intend to always give back and continue doing what I do. It’s not always easy and I strongly believe that a sweet success cannot be achieved without bitter sacrifices. You just have to sparkle wherever you are. And I’m extremely happy that, wherever I go, I see smiles, which even more energize and propels me towards my dream.

This is why we will be having a “rainbows and unicorns” celebration tomorrow! For me, rainbows symbolize endless hope, and unicorns are dreams turning to reality. My life is a blend of colors, and I would like to be able to share my blessings to my friends who have been supporting me, who have been patiently reading my write ups, who have been constantly giving their feedback and comments, and whom I have been equally inspired by. Without you, my blog will just remain as writing. You are the ones giving meaning and purpose to them. How it affects you positively in life is really important to me. I feel so loved and my happiness is overflowing.

Last September 15, on my birthday, I cherished and spent the entire day with my family and close friends. My blogger friends Michelle and Christine joined me in a unique experience at “Under the Sea” for lunch. We became mermaids there! It was so cool and really fun!

We also interacted through Facebook Live that afternoon and randomly picked the well-wishers who will attend tomorrow’s party.

In the evening, My family and I had a sumptuous dinner at Nanbantei of Tokyo at Bonifacio Global City. I was the queen of the night! My family will forever be my motivation and strength. I love them infinitely!

It won’t be complete without some sweet treat - Baskin ‘n’ Robbins’ rainbow ice cream cake!

Although, it still feels like summer majority of the day, I love that we’ve been getting rain showers every now and then. There’s something about this season that makes me want to just stay indoors and lie down. On the other hand, it’s the perfect time to get up and bond with my kids and husband. Just because it’s drizzling outside doesn’t mean we could not have fun anymore. I have been really busy lately, so I can’t wait to do my favorite things with the fambam.

1.The family that cooks and eats together, stays together!

When it’s not pouring, we love to play basketball and do other physical activities. When it’s wet outside like the past few days, I make time to prepare some snacks, we’d eat together and catch up on stories instead. We love cooking as much as we love eating! Strangely, I noticed that the rain somehow has an effect to their appetite (even in mine, haha!).

2.Nights of cuddling and movie marathon

Cold nights can be different and extra special. Our three boys love to stay in our bedroom. We’d stay up late in our bedroom playing board games and watching our favorite movies together. Sounds very cozy and entertaining at the same time. Even though they are already getting bigger than me, they’re still my babies. We love to cuddle until they fall asleep in my arms.

3.Teach ‘em young, bond while doing house chores

It’s good to sometimes get their minds of their gadgets, you now? Kids nowadays get bored easily and get hooked to technology. I take the opportunity, when they couldn’t go out because it’s raining, to teach them to be responsible at home. I make it a point that they get involved in household chores somehow. It’s not that easy, especially having three boys. I let them clean their rooms, wash dishes and do the laundry.

They used to complain about our clothes smelling “kulob” when I started training them. But now that we have Downy, which helps garments stay fresh-smelling, they basically do as I say.

Indeed, we will not run out of things to do this rainy season.

Asthma problem is not new to our family. It’s been very persistent, actually. I have witnessed how it made my Nanay suffer for a long time. I look forward to every weekend for our family bonding. Eating out, exercising together, going to the mall or simply staying at home to watch their favorite movies/TV shows are just a few of the activities we love to do. As much as possible, I also make time during weekdays to make sure I spend quality time with my kids and get to catch up with them. They are growing up fast and I don’t want to miss any of it, especially their childhood. They are so precious to me.

I and my two sons Elijah and Ethan had the chance to have an extended celebration at the SM Kids’ City on September 16. We stayed at EDSA Shang for my birthday, so SM Megamall was just stone-throw away.

It was super fun and I was very excited for this extraordinary mall experience. The Event Center at the Lower Ground Floor of Mega A was transformed into a mini-city. There were several booths where both kids and moms could enjoy and experience.

SM Kids’ City has been the biggest kiddie party in the metro malls including SM Southmall, SM Fairview, SM Bacoor, SM San Lazaro and SM Megamall. It’s been touring around since August, and good thing I didn’t miss it. September 16 was the last leg, and it was full of surprises! Celebrity guests Team Yey, Alonzo Muhlach, Alvin Patrimonio and Kelly Misa graced the party. There were games and playground setup for both the kids and kids at heart. Purefoods Star Hotshots was there to entertain us. Oh, this booth is so pretty! Mommies and daughters had some cool makeover sessions at the J&J Kiddie Salon. Gru and Minion Stuart were very accommodating and the kids love them!

There were different fun rides, too. It was as if we’re in a carnival or theme park with all merriments in every direction.

Our favorite part was the balloon twisting demo! Just like in every kiddie party, where my most awaited moment would be the performances like when clowns do magic, I was equally amazed as my sons were. And seeing my kids beaming with interest and happiness is priceless.

We didn’t have to worry about getting famished even if we stayed for hours because there were special deals and even free food!

Indeed, that was the biggest kiddie party we have ever been to! ‘Til next time!

When I saw Uber’s new video for the first time, my heart melted and it opened my eyes to realities we sometimes take for granted. It was very touching. If you haven’t seen the video yet, I suggest that you watch it.

This fresh and benevolent campaign features three amazing Uber drivers who have also become inspirations to their riders. Uber fosters community spirit in this light. More than just booking a ride to get to where you need to be, Uber aims to provide remarkable service and the human experience in the midst of all our daily struggles on or off the road.

In social media, I have come across several posts about riders sharing their Uber stories. It’s great to know how our drivers become really good Samaritans when the situation calls for it. Even if what they do is no longer part of their job, they still do it out of kindness and willingness to help. Have you ever wondered about the story behind these heroes?

We have thousands of Uber drivers working so hard in the streets, and it’s overwhelming to find inspiration in each one of them. Just like in the video, Marissa Fuster would brave the road every day to provide for her three children after getting her life back from an abusive husband. Her story of standing up for her rights strikes women all the time. She would receive tips and one of her passengers even texted her after her trip, saying that she reminded her of her mother. These simple things warm her heart and encourage her to provide the best service in every ride.

We don’t often meet a driver who’s a woman. Angelina Gina Go, a kidney-transplant patient, takes it as opportunity to start a meaningful conversation with the riders. She loves interacting with people to help her cope with her situation. She decided to drive for Uber to provide for her medication, and to be able to work in flexible hours at the same time. That way, she can rest when she needed to. Her passengers admire her perseverance and strength.

Sometimes, we ignore their being accommodating only because we don’t feel like interacting after a busy and tiring day. Alvin Abella’s story will surely change your perspective in your day to day challenges. He used to be an OFW, but he decided to head back home to his family and finish what he started in college. Being an Uber driver allows him to go to school during the day and work at night. Riders would see him while still wearing his uniform and they praise him for his determination and diligence. And it means a lot too him whenever he gets compliments.

So, the next time you ride Uber, and the driver starts talking to you or asks if you want some water or the AC adjusted, take a minute to appreciate them. Get them to tell their stories to you. Then, share their stories to inspire others, too. When you arrive at your destination safely and they say “Ingat po!”, you say #KayoRinPo. Believe me, it will go a long way.

What’s your favorite chicken dish? Do you know the secret to a delicious and appetizing chicken recipe?

I love to cook. I must admit though that I only know how to cook a hand-full of dishes. My all-time favorite? Chicken Adobo! This is the very first chicken dish I learned how to cook, and the only one that I can be proud of. It was my grandma’s recipe, so it’s really special to me and the rest of the family.

Aside from being the most authentic Filipino dish, my (grandma’s) chicken adobo has its signature taste of saltiness and sweetness combined. I also love the tang of laurel leaf in it. To make sure that the freshness of the chicken will not be masked and overwhelmed by all of the flavors, I let the chicken boil in a little amount of water with salt and pepper first. Sometimes, I make some variations by putting pineapple chunks as sweetener instead of sugar, or mix some veggies for some colors and added flavor. You must try it!
